Thought I would post this question (What are we looking for?)... since the end of the strike it does appear that the UH has been going through some major changes, almost an identity crisis. With another strikes looming on the horizon. I felt that I wanted to hear what people wanted to see coming out of UH.
In the short term I'm looking to see the actors get their fair share, especially in new media...if they can get any gains from the moguls that they can split with the writers and directors my hat is off to them. So that's an immediate focal point.
In the long term, I am looking to see actors, writers, directors, crew, and everyone in the old established entertainment industry figure out how to wean themselves from the bad old studio habits and move into what potentially could be a golden age for media...it will be media delivered in new ways, with new delights and potentially new revenues for people who have yet to realize their potential to grow creatively and also become more economically secure...that and I want to learn all I can firsthand about how the changes will take place. At a minimum I expect to see some great new content and down the line maybe I can make my own economic condition more secure not to mention seeing some new more direct and fruitful partnerships arise between the audience and the content providers.
So what you see as an identity crisis for UH I see as a paradigm shift and full of potential.
