What Is The Rumpus Room?

The Rumpus Room actually means at least three different things, depending on context

1) Originally the Rumpus Room is the nickname adopted by the chatters at United Hollywood Live to describe the chat interface of United Hollywood's NowLive.com multicasting room. When the WGA strike of 2007-2008 was in full swing, there were live video casts hosted by WGA writers Eric Champnella , Trey Callaway and Jeffrey Berman (sometimes a backup host, often an in the field correspondent), with the occasional in the field report from Samantha Humphrey. Those shows are now archived as audio podcasts and can be heard at the original United Hollywood blog -- click on the widget entitled 'myliveshow' to listen to the old shows.

Out of habit we still go to NowLive.com on Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays from 3pm-4pm Eastern (Noon-1pm Pacific) to chat. You can join us at

http://www.nowlive.com/comboplayer/NewComboPlayer.aspx?id=50649

and await the return of the full-on sensory assaulting extravaganzas that our United Hollywood member hosts promise will resume (hopefully sooner rather than later).

2) We also have a Google Group called the United Hollywood Live Rumpus Room at Rumpus Room Google Group where we talk amongst ourselves via email. This Google Group is open for others to join as well.

3) Finally the Rumpus Room refers to this brand new subgroup of the United Hollywood Forum here at Ning which you are also welcome to join.

By the way for those who are not from the USA, a 'rumpus room' often refers to a room in one's home (typically in a basement) where the children are set loose to play without fear of breaking things and where raucous behavior is tolerated (if not encouraged).

So welcome everyone and have fun!
